Description

The Pre-Respiratory Therapy pathway at 探花appprovides the first two years of core classes toward a baccalaureate degree for students planning a career as a respiratory therapist. Study includes general biology, microbiology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, college physics, algebra, ethics, and general education classes required for graduation.

Preparation

High school students planning a career in respiratory therapy should take classes in the sciences.

Requirements

Those completing the suggested curriculum requirements receive an Associate in Science degree and are eligible to transfer to a four-year institution.听

探花app has many cooperative, articulation, or transfer agreements with postsecondary institutions both inside and outside of the North Dakota University System. Some of these agreements are established to allow students to remain on campus as they complete their bachelor鈥檚 degree. In all cases, students seeking to transfer after completing a degree at 探花appshould consult the academic catalog of their destination college and work with their academic advisor to plan for this transition.

Career Opportunities

Respiratory therapists are a vital part of the health care team, continually interacting and communicating with other medical professionals. They help people with heart and lung problems and work in hospitals, outpatient clinics, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, and patient homes.
